Cruise Details

Our West Coast cruise for 2011 will allow cruising opportunities within an area of stunning coastal scenery, and a number of unique calls and visits at piers and lochs not visited by passenger vessel for a long number of years.

The route loosely follows MacBraynes famous Royal Route from the Clyde to the Western Highlands.

Friday 29 April
The cruise departs Greenock at 0600 on Friday 29th April 2011, and sails that day to Barcaldine on Loch Creran via Oban and the Crinan Canal.

Saturday 30 April
On Saturday we sail northwards to Fort William via some lesser visited piers and lochs.

Sunday 1 May
The sailing on Sunday includes a 3 hour guided tour by mini-bus of the Glensanda coastal quarry.

Monday 2 May
Depart Oban at 0800 for the return sailing to Greenock via the Crinan Canal.

Each day’s sailing will be serviced by coach connection from Oban , allowing passengers to base themselves and organize accommodation in Oban for the 3 nights. On each day, a full and informative commentary will be provided on passing points of interest.

Cruise Booking Options
The cruise can be booked as a full 4 day excursion, or tickets can be purchased individually for any of the 4 days. On a historical note, the weekend partly commemorates the long serving MacBrayne’s vessel ‘Loch Fyne’ which commenced service 80 years ago in 1931.

The route and calling places followed by Rover to Ardrishaig , and from Oban to Fort William ,whilst standing in for King George V, would have been very familiar to the Loch Fyne.
